This is a great book! I just finished it Saturday (while relaxing outside in this beautiful weather)! It is the 1st book of a 4 book series. I have heard that all 4 books are great, but haven't picked up the 2nd one yet!

Movie Night!

After our last book club we all learned that there is a movie based off of the book. Kelly has the movie and really enjoys it.

So, we all thought it would be fun to get together for a Friday night movie!

Book Club is coming up! Has anybody taken the test? Read a book? Hopefully you'll still come even if your answers are no, but the books are still being passed around as we speak so maybe you can get your mitts on one soon!

Bear Lake trip! Who's in?

Last year we drove down to Bear Lake with my family. The Crandall's and the Brinkerhoff's joined us! It was a blast! Everybody had so so so much fun! Bear Lake is perfect for kids of all ages. The beach is great for digging and building and the lake is so gradual you can walk forever and the water still doesn't get too deep!

We are going back again this August with my family (parents, sister & her 3 kids). We would love for anyone to join us and hope lots of you come!

We are going on Saturday, August 7th! We are hoping to go the day before for a little camping get-away, but not sure if anythings available. If not we will just drive up Saturday morning. We take a canopy, beach toys, a shovel (a must for digging holes to play in), a lunch, and the usual summer beach items. It's pretty casual and a LOT of fun! My kids have been begging to go back!

Hey ladies! I realized that I gave Aubrey the wrong internet address. I had my family all take the test last night. It was pretty fun. Anyways try this site instead http://similarminds.com/test.html
If this gives you problems please call me. You are looking for the Enneagram test. It's only 45 questions. When you are done write down your scores for the 9 types. Normally your dominant personality is the highest one, but I must admit this test is not the most valid and reliable test for it. The ones in the book are better, so if you feel it wasn't a good indicator for you I'll get you the 140 question test.

I have two copies of the book available right now. Please call if you want them. I have 3 others that are still on hold, but hopefully they will come in soon. I hope it's fun for everyone!

August Book Club!

Okay, so I finally remembered to update this about the new subject we are reading about!

We are going to read about and study our personalities. The first thing we each need to do is take a personality 'test'. Jeannie has about 5 books that each have these tests or you can take one online at this website: similarminds.com/global5.html

Once you have determined which personality type you are you can read about it and study yourself so that you can improve your parenting skills, social skills, etc. Then it will be fun to talk about it at bookclub to see what personalities we all are and how we best interact, etc.

The name of the book that I have is: Know Your Parenting Personality by Janet Levine. Talk to Jeannie if you want to borrow one of hers. I will also pass this one around!

The bookclub will be at Kelly's house with Jeannie conducting the discussion!

A Successful Playgroup

Playgroup is over and I will have to say that it was a great success! So many people came, many of which are not the regulars to playgroup! I was so glad to have so many fun ladies to visit with and my boys were so glad to have so many kiddos! Thanks for coming! Hope to see you tomorrow night!

Book Club!

We will be taking the month of July off for book club (and bunco). It's such a busy month with holidays and vacations that most voted to take the month off. That gives us all plenty of time to read the next book!

We are trying something a little new this time around. First, we are going to read a non-fiction. This will be our 2nd non-fiction book in about 3 years! Second, we are not choosing 1 specific book, but a specific topic. We think it will be fun to learn about our different personalities (and those of our spouses, friends, family) by taking different personality tests and reading about them.

Jeannie has reserved 4 or 5 different books all with the same theories and personality tests that we can pass around the neighborhood and share with each other. There is also a website that has the personality tests and information!

Haha! I can't find my book with the specific information on it right now! Well, I know where the book is, but I don't want to run upstairs to get it right now! So, check back soon and I promise the information will be posted shortly!

Friday Night Barbeque!

This Friday John and I are hosting an Elder's Quorum BBQ! Dinner will be starting at 6:00 here at our house! The Elder's Quorum will be providing hamburgers and hotdogs with the fixings if you will please bring a salad or a dessert to share! The whole family is invited!

Please let your neighbors now about the BBQ, anybody is welcome to come!

Play Group!

Our upcoming playgroup is this Thursday, the 24th of June! Starting at 10:00 we will be having a swimming party at my house. We have a slip-n-slide, a blow-up swimming pool, and a sprinkler! So, bring the kiddos in swimsuits! Bring sunscreen, towels, drinking water, and a picnic lunch (if you want).
